I really wasn't all that impressed. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did a decent job as JACK BRUNO, but he's clearly following into the Schwarzenegger's trend of "Tough Action Guys" doing light-hearted kid movies. And there's nothing wrong with that. You want to give your kids something to enjoy and you to watch. Or is you something to enjoy and your kids to watch? In any case, the truth of the matter is...his heart isn't in it!
I love the "Rock", I mean Dwayne Johnson, but seriously just like Vin Diesel, he will do more harm to his career than good if he continues to do movies like this. Even Vin Diesel realized that and went back to do The FAST and FURIOUS installment and is in talks of revising his XXX character! Gee...I wonder why? And yes I know they "killed" him off, but, well...let's just say the writers have a tough job ahead of them explaining that one.
BACK TO THE ROCK: Let's see more movies like THE WALKING TALL or THE RUNDOWN. Maybe even do more powerful cameos in films like you did in the THE SCORPION KING. I would love to see a movie made with him and Will Smith as brothers. The most important part of a movie is it's entertainment value, so I will say the movie is very entertaining...it just lacks the UMPH! (for adults atleast.)
But as I always say, at the end of the day, I'm a movie lover not a hater!
